Upload & eSignature
Send a document for signature in four steps: upload it, add signatories and place their fields, sign, and finish. This guide covers the full flow for a single signer, then how it works when more than one party needs to sign.
2. Step 1: Upload a Document
Before you start: you are on the Sign Document screen, with a PDF or Word file no larger than 10 MB.
- Open My Work, where at the bottom of Core Workflows you choose Upload & Sign.
- Add your document - browse, drag and drop, or pick from a cloud source. The file is added to the upload queue.
- Legitt AI checks the file type and size. Unsupported or oversized files are rejected with a message explaining why.
- Progress is shown until it is complete. After uploading successfully, click on Add Signatories button.
- When clicking on Add Signatories, the Invite Signatories pop-up will open.
3. Step 2: Add Signatories & Place Fields
Before you start: your document is uploaded.
- Click Add signatory, enter the signatory's name and email address, and click Add to signatory list.
- You will see your right panel a new signatory will be added. Now click on continue.
- Add a signatory - yourself or an external person. Each one is added to the signatory list.
- Drag a field onto the page where it is needed - Sign, Initials, Stamp, or Date. The field is placed where you drop it.
- Assign each field to a signatory, so Legitt AI knows who fills it.
4. Step 3: Create Workflow (Optional)
- To add an Approver / Editor, click the Create Workflow tab.
- Click on the Collaborator/ Approver Add button and search field will open, click on search field, add name press enter.
- Enter Name, select role (Editor, Owner, Viewer) and check approver box then click on add button to add a collaborator.
- Like a collaborator, you can add extra signatories or CC.
5. Step 4: Send Document for eSign
Before you start: fields are assigned, and the signatory clicks the signature box and clicks the pen icon.
- The signature modal opens with four options: Draw, Type, Upload, or Saved.
- Create a new signature or pick a saved one. A preview is shown.
- Optionally, save the signature for future use so you can reuse it next time. Click on Save Signature for future use.
- Click Sign. Your signature is applied to the assigned field.
- Now click on Send for Sign button to send the document to other signatories.
- Check the email and subject. Select the expiry date for the document and reminder, then click on the Accept & continue button.
- A completion window appears with your next-step options: Review, Generate.
- An audit trail is written, recording each event - uploaded, finished, and signed - with who did it and when.
- Choose an action - for example, download the signed copy.
