Introduction
Contracts carry deadlines - renewal dates, expiry dates, payment obligations, deliverables - and it is easy for these to slip through the cracks when they live scattered across inboxes, spreadsheets, and individual owners' memory.
Common challenges include:
-
contracts expiring without anyone noticing
-
renewal windows missed until it is too late to renegotiate
-
obligations and payments falling overdue
-
no single place to see what needs attention across the portfolio
Legitt AI solves this using Alerts.
Alerts continuously monitor every contract in your account and surface what needs your attention, before it becomes a problem.
Alerts notify you about:
-
contracts expiring soon, grouped by how close they are to expiry (for example, next 30/60/90 days)
-
upcoming renewal windows and auto-renewal deadlines
-
overdue and upcoming obligations or payments
-
pending approvals, reviews, and signatures awaiting action
-
contracts missing key metadata or details
Key Benefits
Alerts help organizations:
-
never miss a contract expiry or renewal deadline again
-
act on overdue obligations before they become disputes
-
prioritize what needs attention across thousands of contracts
-
reduce reliance on manual tracking and reminders
-
improve renewal negotiation outcomes by acting early
Where to Find Alerts
Alerts are available directly from the Alerts section in the left navigation panel, alongside the other modules of Legitt AI. Opening it shows every active alert - including which contracts are expiring soonest - so you can jump straight to the contract that needs action.
1. Overview
Alerts are reminders for the dates that matter - renewals, deadlines, and follow-ups. Use this screen to see what's coming up, create a new reminder, act on the ones you have, and filter down to the alerts you care about.
The Alerts screen lists your reminders and groups them by how soon they are due. Time-window tabs across the top - All, Within 7 Days, 7-14 Days, After 14 Days, and After 21 Days - let you focus on a period, and each row shows the key details of one alert.
From here you can:
-
View and triage - see what's due and when, by time window.
-
Create - add a new reminder for a date.
-
Act - complete, sync to a calendar, open the related document, or delete.
-
Filter and find - narrow the list by type, status, or category.
2. View & Triage Alerts
Before you start: you are on Alerts and have reminders.
- Scan the time-window tabs - each shows how many alerts fall in that window.
-
Select a time bucket to list the alerts due in that window.
-
Read a row for its title, due date, recurrence, priority, and amount, plus who created it.
3. Create an Alert
Before you start: you want a reminder for a specific date.
-
Click + Add. The Create Alert window opens.
-
Enter an Alert Description and a Date.
-
Set the optional fields as needed - Recurrence, Currency and Amount, and an additional email address to notify.

4. Act on an Alert
Before you start: an alert exists in the list.
Each row has quick actions on the right. You can:
- Mark it complete (the check icon). The alert is resolved and removed from upcoming.
- Sync it to your calendar (the calendar icon) to add it to your external calendar.
-
Open the related document, if the alert is linked to one.
-
Delete the alert (the trash icon). You are asked to confirm before it is removed.
5. Filter & Find
Before you start: you have many alerts and want to narrow the list.
-
Open Filters (the funnel icon). You can filter by Alert Type, Alert Added As, Status, and Categories (Document, Task, General).
-
Adjust the categories or status. The list filters as you change them.
-
Use the search to find a specific alert, or Clear to reset all filters.
